Tournament regulations

01Does it really work with no internet?
Yes. Bracketware is a desktop application with a local database. Creating tournaments, entering scores, generating rounds, projecting the bracket and exporting results all happen on your machine. There is no server to be down and no sync to fail.
02How many participants can it handle?+
There is no artificial cap. The practical limit is the memory, storage and display of the machine running it. Long participant lists and match sets are paginated, and round robin schedules are generated round by round rather than all at once.
03What happens if my laptop crashes mid-event?+
Every save is atomic and retains the three previous snapshots. If the current snapshot is damaged, Bracketware opens the newest valid recovery snapshot and records that recovery in the activity log, so you know exactly what was restored.
04Can I fix a score I entered wrong?+
Recent saved actions can be undone while they remain in Bracketware's bounded recovery history. A completed result can also be corrected from its original checkpoint — the rounds that depended on it are recalculated rather than left contradicting the corrected result.
05Can I import my registrations?+
Yes, from CSV, with a local preview before anything is created. Supported columns include participant/name, seed, region/team/club and rating/Elo. Headerless one-name-per-line files work too. Duplicate names and seeds are rejected before the tournament is created.
06Is any of my data sent anywhere?+
No. Tournament and roster data stays in the app's local SQLite database and preferences stay in local application storage. Exports are written only when you ask for them, into a folder on your own disk. Imported backups are validated before a transactional merge, and CSV cells are escaped against spreadsheet-formula injection.
07Is $19 really the whole cost?+
Yes. No subscription, no per-event fee, no participant tiers, no formats held back for a pro plan. If a future major version is ever a paid upgrade it will be a separate, optional purchase — your copy keeps working either way.
08What about mobile?+
Bracketware launches first on macOS for Apple Silicon. Windows and mobile builds exist in development but are not part of this release.
